Dr. Anastasios Tsekouras, participated as a speaker and member of the Scientific Committee at the 5th Panhellenic Congress “Dilemmas and Contrasts in Breast Diseases”, held in Athens from June 12 to 14, 2025, organized by the Hellenic Gynecologic Society for Breast Diseases (E.G.E.PA.M.), in collaboration with the 1st Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and REA Maternity Hospital.
This leading medical conference brought together distinguished professionals from various specialties, focusing on modern developments in breast cancer diagnosis, surgical treatment, and breast reconstruction. The aim of the congress was to foster interdisciplinary dialogue and highlight new techniques, research findings, and innovations in the field of breast surgery and oncology.
Dr. Tsekouras delivered a presentation titled “Complications in Implant-Based Breast Reconstruction”, in which he thoroughly analyzed the most frequent and clinically significant complications that may arise following mastectomy and breast reconstruction with implants. He presented contemporary preventive strategies, advanced surgical approaches, and decision-making algorithms that can improve patient outcomes in both aesthetic and functional terms.
