Chemical Peels

A chemical peel is the most popular and frequent skin rejuvenation treatment that helps renew skin, improve radiance, eliminates fine lines and improves skin discoloration. Over time, our skin is affected by various factors, such as air pollution, sun, smoking and stress, resulting in cell renewal slowdown. A layer of dead cells remains on the top layer of the skin, preventing the new ones from appearing. As such, the skin looks dull and lifeless. Chemical peels are suitable for treating fine wrinkles, freckles, age spots, loss of elasticity and enlarged pores.

Depending on the needs of individual skin, chemical peels are classified into three categories:

  1. a) Superficial peels: Alpha-hydroxy acids (fruit acids):

Suitable for younger ages and skin that is not too damaged, indicating less depth of destruction into the dermis.

  1. b) Medium-depth peels, performed with trichloroacetic acid (TCA):

They penetrate deeper into the dermis, they soften wrinkles and eliminate uneven skin tone. Patients are usually recommended to abstain from their normal activities until properly healed.

  1. c) Deep peels (phenols):

Phenols reach the deeper layer of the dermis, compared to other peelings, and are mainly used to treat severe discoloration and deep wrinkles. They cause particularly aggressive exfoliation, so patients are required to abstain from their normal activities. For that reason, today they have been replaced by other treatments.

Easypeel, one of the most popular medium-depth trichloroacetic acid (TCA) peels, is performed at our clinic.

All about EasyPeel

This is the safest and easiest medium depth peeling, with controlled exfoliation for skin regeneration. It is addressed to all skin types, all skin phototypes and can be performed anytime during the year.

It is an ideal treatment that helps renew and regenerates the skin, improves radiance and eventually makes the skin look firmer. It is also applied to eliminate fine lines and wrinkles, improve and eliminate blemishes and spots, while it is also used to treat photoaging, etc.

Process

Easypeel gradually renews skin cells. It uses hypoallergenic products of active pharmaceutical ingredients (bleaching agents), liposomal and acidic agents that contribute to a more effective penetration into the skin. Once the TCA solution gets dry, a post-peel mask with special active ingredients is applied on the face, that promotes the activation of the skin renewal process.

The treatment is painless and does not require preparation or any kind of anesthesia. It can even be performed over make-up and the return to daily activities is immediate. The application protocols vary according to individual needs. For skins with superficial wrinkles and slight skin discolorations in need of renewal, 4 sessions are recommended every 8 or 15 days, depending on the severity of the skin condition.

Results

The result is immediate and impressive, as it instantly gives a healthy, young looking and bright complexion. Based on your lifestyle, 1-2 sessions a year can help your face maintain its natural glow.

Useful Information

  • It usually takes three days after the treatment for the skin to peel off, e.g. if the treatment occurs on Wednesday or Thursday, the peeling will start around the weekend.
  • Between peeling sessions we use specific products depending on the application protocol.
  • It is recommended that you avoid sun exposure during treatment.
