Hyaluronic acid is a naturally-occurring polysaccharide that is found throughout our body. When we are young, there is plenty on our skin and other parts of the body, such as the joints, but as we age, its production gradually decreases.
The hyaluronic acid we use for therapeutic injection is produced in the laboratory and is of non-animal origin and subsequently is hypoallergenic, stabilized, biodegradable and very similar to the one our body naturally produces.
Process
Hyaluronic acid can be used to fill wrinkles in many areas of the face, depending on your needs and also rejuvenate the skin.
It is injected with a very fine needle under the wrinkle, to ensure volume and practically "fill out" the wrinkle. The deeper we go into the skin (which depends on the depth of each wrinkle), the more volume we need. A topical anesthetic cream is applied prior to injections.
Hyaluronic acid is used to enhance and restore the contour of the face. With the help of its high molecular weight and with a specific technique, we achieve a more youthful and refreshed appearance in a non-invasive way.

Useful Information
- The treatment is repeated after 12-18 months.
- In each treatment the wrinkles gradually soften, so that less and less injections are needed in each session.
- Possible mild redness at the treated area or bruising may be visible, but they usually subside in 1-2 days after treatment and are very easily covered with make-up.
- The treated area should not be exposed to intense heat (e.g. solarium or sunbathing) or extreme cold for a week.
