PDO Threads

Process

The application of an anesthetic cream is recommended one hour prior to treatment. PDO threads are inserted into the dermis of the skin, the subcutaneous fat or the underlying muscles via a thin needle. Then, they are lifted in the desired direction and pulled upwards to reposition the skin. PDO threads create an internal network and cause an inflammatory reaction, which in turn, attracts platelets and neutrophils, activating fibroblasts and monocytes. Thus, angiogenesis and production of collagen and elastin are promoted, leading to the reduction of wrinkles and to skin tightening.

With a wide range of applications, PDO threads can be used in the following areas:

• Face: brow lift, nasοlabial folds, vertical forehead wrinkles, cheekbones, marionette lines, smokers lines, sagging cheeks, facial contour.
• Neck: wrinkles on the neck, jaw line contouring (under the chin area).
• Body: arms, abdomen, buttocks, inner thighs, knees.

Results

The results are discreet and natural-looking. They are immediately visible after the treatment and continue to improve for up to three months, as collagen production continues to improve during these months. The results are maintained for about one and a half year.

Useful Information

• After treatment, mild swelling and some bruising may occur, which gradually subside in the following days.
• It is recommended to avoid strenuous exercise in the first days after the treatment.
• It is recommended to avoid making facial expressions as much as you can for 24 hours.
• After washing your face, you should, dry it patting it gently with a soft towel.
• Avoid using make-up for 48 hours after the treatment.
• PDO threads can be combined with other treatments, such as fillers, Botox/Dysport, laser skin rejuvenation and tightening.
