Freckles

It is known that, in recent years, prolonged sun exposure without the appropriate sun protection, has become more and more harmful. One of the most common skin lesions occurred by this exposure is freckles, which occur mainly on the face, but also on other sun-exposed areas of the body.

Freckles are brown spots, with irregular, blurred borders, which cause skin discoloration. Over time, these discolorations tend to increase in size, which is aesthetically unpleasant not only to women but also to men.

Process

At our clinic we treat freckles effectively using the advanced Q-switched AlexTrivantage Laser. The laser produces a beam of light, which is absorbed by the freckles; then, it breaks down the pigment, which is in turn absorbed by the body, offering a rejuvenated skin without marks.

Within 2-3 sessions we can achieve a noticeable improvement or even the complete removal of freckles.

Results

The freckles are removed in a completely safe way, without any complications or side effects. The skin tone improves and the skin acquires a healthy, radiant and youthful appearance, without the unsightly skin marks.

Useful Information

  • Freckles are caused by an uneven distribution of melanocytes, which are located in the epidermis and are caused by our exposure to ultraviolet radiation; other causes are hormonal disorders and genetic predisposition.
  • They occur mainly in women of reproductive age and appear on the cheekbones, upper lip, chin, forehead and hands.
  • According to a Skin Cancer Foundation survey, 29% of women and 49% of men admitted that they had not used sunscreen in the past year.
