Tattoo Removal

Over the last decades, one of the most growing fashion trends is tattooing. The decision to make a tattoo is usually made at a younger age, but very often as people get older, they want to remove it because they no longer like or want it. The new generation lasers are ideal for tattoo removal, through a simple and not at all painful process, while offering the best possible results.

Process

In our clinic we use the advanced Alex Trivantage, a Q-switched Laser, which is based on the principle of selective photothermolysis. The laser produces a beam of light, which is absorbed only by the grains of the dye and breaks the pigment into pieces; the ink is then naturally eliminated from the body.

The removal process is safe and effective and can be completed in a few sessions.

Results

In most cases, the tattoo disappears completely from the skin. However, this depends on several factors such as: its size, the depth of the pigment position and the colors used. For example, colors like blue, black and red have a better response to lasers, while green fades more slowly and yellow is one of the most difficult colors to remove. In all cases, significant fading or reduction of color intensity can be achieved, if not completely removed.

Useful Information

In the previous years, tattoos were removed by various methods such as dermabrasion, cryosurgery or conventional surgical methods, which were painful and required a long recovery period. Also, these methods were associated with the high risk of atrophic or hypertrophic scarring and keloids formation.
